Parque Natural de la Sierra y los Cañones de Guara is one of the largest areas protected as a natural park in Aragon and is renowned worldwide for its spectacularly deep canyons sculpted by its rivers, rain and air. HISTORIC CITY

Barbastro

Ever since the historic city of Barbastro’s founding during the 10th century, it has taken on the role of capital of Somontano. Its geographical location has seen it develop into an administrative capital devoted to commerce, a status it has maintained from that day since.

MEDIEVAL VILLAGE

Alquézar

Nestled within the Sierra y los Cañones de Guara natural park, this is currently the primary point of interest visited by tourists who come to explore this attractive park.
A walk through its streets is nothing less than a stroll into the past, a parade of sights before our eyes, such as the great gateway through which one entered the city, the magnificent Plaza Mayor, the Colegiata de Santa María la Mayor, the Iglesia Parroquial church, and the Virgen de las Nieves hermitage.
